Police say they were called to a home on Imperial Lane just before 7:00 p.m. about a disturbance involving several people.

A resident claimed they were hit with a baseball bat, and then the two men drove off in a green pick-up truck.

A witness at the party says one of the men had what appeared to be a handgun.

Police attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver took off and led police on chase.

The two men, aged 25 and 33, are reportedly Hispanic and brothers.

GREENVILLE, WI (WTAQ) - A special committee of county supervisors has been formed to look at the possibility of changing the name of Outagamie County Regional Airport.

“I think it’s our best interest as custodians of the airport to make sure we're doing everything we can to support it,” Tanya Rabec, a county supervisor and the chair of the special committee, told FOX 11.

The goal is to see if a name change would make more people use the airport. Among the ideas, are using the Appleton or Houdini names.

Area businesses have told board members they would be for a change.

“I think the perception is they don't know the Outagamie County name, they don't know how to spell Outagamie County, so they choose Milwaukee or Green Bay,” said Rabec. “So what we need to do is find out if this is true, and if it is, how much we're losing vs. how much we could capture.”

“There is absolutely no reason to change this what so ever,” Chuck Schmidt, a county supervisor who is not on the committee, told FOX 11.

Schmidt says the idea to change the name is a waste of time.

“They're interested in catchy tunes for their jingles for their advertisements,” said Schmidt. “The whole issue is basically a non issue.”

With it still being early in the process, a lot still needs to figured out, like if a change would be worth the cost.

The special committee hopes to have its research complete and a recommendation in place in the next 4 to 6 months.

SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ) - The “Home of the Hamburger” could soon have the tastiest museum ever.

About 15-hundred artifacts were recently donated to Seymour’s community museum.

The local historical society president hopes to have it all on display when Seymour holds its annual Burger Fest August 9th-and-10th.

Group president Bill Collar tells Fox 11 that the museum now has the world’s largest burger collection display.

He says Jeffrey Tennyson saw the hamburger as a cultural icon, and he started collecting burger memorabilia in the 1980’s. He wrote a history of the hamburger in 1993.

When he died in 2006, Collar said Tennyson left his collection to a friend in Palm Springs California – and that person decided that it all belongs in Seymour.

The collection includes hamburger telephones, golf balls, salt-and-pepper shakers, and much more.

Some of it’s already on display after being donated a month ago.

Collar says the museum will also have a photo exhibit on Seymour’s hamburger history starting next Friday.

Differing views on how much school state aid should increase

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The state government’s coffers will get a half-billion-dollars more than expected over the next budget period.

Assembly Republicans say they want to give about 40-percent of the windfall to public schools.

The non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau said Thursday that Wisconsin would have a $543-million surplus by the time the next budget period ends in mid-2015.

Joint Finance Assembly chair John Nygren proposed giving schools $100 more per student in state aid, for a total of $225 million over the two-year period.

Senate President Mike Ellis has proposed a $200 increase in school aid per student, with $245 million to be funded by the state and the rest by a slight property tax increase.

Republican Governor Scott Walker said he wants to hold the line on property taxes – plus provide more school aid and a bigger income tax cut.

Assembly Democratic Minority Leader Peter Barca said Republicans should quote, “un-do the damage they did” to public schools and vocational school job training in the 2011 budget.

Walker said Act-10 gave many schools the tools they needed to off-set the 2011 state aid cuts – but the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance said it only made up for two-thirds of the school aid losses statewide.

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Two members of the Green Bay police department will take part in Friday's ceremony honoring officers killed in the line of duty at the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial.

Officer Bob Matheny and Captain Bill Galvin will be part of the honor guard.

"It's a sense of duty, to show respect and honor the officers in Green Bay, Brown County and the state of Wisconsin that have given so much of their time and effort," says Galvin. "Even more so for those who have given their lives to protect the people of Wisconsin."

Galvin says it will get emotional for officers, family and spectators during the 23rd annual ceremony on the Capitol grounds in Madison.

"It can be very difficult, especially when a family member or a loved one of an officer that has given their life is speaking, it can really choke you up," says Galvin. "When you hear the bagpipes, or the bugler, that's also another time that really strikes a chord when you can see emotions going across their faces."

Five Wisconsin law enforcement officers will be added to the memorial during the ceremony. That includes Wauwatosa officer Jennifer Sebena, who was gunned down on Christmas Eve. Her husband has been charged with the crime.

Cellcom Green Bay Marathon officials make changes to deal with heat

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - When the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon begins next Sunday, it could be 20 to 30 degrees cooler than a year ago – when 18 runners were sent to hospitals for heat ailments.

This time, the National Weather Service says it will be in the upper 40’s, perhaps with rain.

Still, organizers are taking no chances. Director Sean Ryan says race personnel will communicate more easily with medical workers along the 26 mile route. More paramedics will be spread out.

Volunteers will have hand-held radios at each of the 20 water and medical stations, and they’ll have more radio channels available for safety officers. They only had one such channel a year ago, and that slowed response times – along with the fact that the volunteers on the route used cell phones instead of radios.

Weather will be monitored each hour, unlike a year ago – when the mercury climbed to 80 degrees during the race and people started collapsing.

The race was called after two-and-a-half hours, but most runners kept going anyway.

This year, Ryan says the timing display will be shut off if the race is called – and black markers will be posted at water stations to let the runners know.
