APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says a major Appleton highway interchange will reopen at the end of this week.
The Richmond Street/U.S. Highway 41 interchange will open by the end of the day on Friday. It's been closed since February when the state started a $4.2 million project.
The bridge was raised from 15 feet to 16 feet 9 inches above U.S. Highway 41. The bridge deck was widened an extra 11 inches with separated bicycle and pedestrian lanes. It also lengthened turn lanes.
Richmond Street is also known as Highway 47.
