
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The mystery surrounding why the Green Bay Packers released veteran quarterback Vince Young appears to have been solved.
The Packers have signed veteran quarterback Seneca Wallace to be a backup to starter Aaron Rodgers.
Young was released Saturday as part of the final cut down, leaving the green and gold with 2 QB's: Rodgers and B.J. Coleman.
ESPN reports Wallace is expected to practice Monday.
The Packers also announced Monday they have released Coleman.
The Packers now have two quarterbacks to help them prepare for the season opener against San Francisco. Wallace spent training camp with the 49ers, along with former Wisconsin Badger Scott Tolzien, who was signed to the practice squad.
Also signed to the practice squad are G Bryan Collins, WR Charles Johnson, CB James Nixon, TE Jake Stoneburnerand WR Myles White.
