GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The second of two big apartment complexes in downtown Green Bay is getting closer to reality.
The Redevelopment Authority approved a development agreement with Dermond Group to build a seven story complex on the site of the parking lot currently being used by Nicolet Bank along the Fox River.
The site at Washington and Walnut will be called Metreau and will include 93 units along with retail space.
Dermond wants to begin construction by December.
This is the second large riverfront apartment complex to move forward in recent months.
At the end of April, the City Deck Commons was approved. It’s an 84-unit mixed-use complex with two levels of underground parking. The ground floor is dedicated for retail use.
The city council will vote on the Metreau development agreement at next Tuesday’s meeting.
