STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A small engine sky diving plane made an emergency landing on Saturday morning in Door County and flipped upside down upon touching down.

The pilot, 50-year-old Michael Delain suffered minor injuries and was able to walk away.

It landed just before 11:30 a.m. at Door County Cherryland Airport after just releasing sky drivers.

The plane was about 1,200 ft in the air when the engine died and he couldn’t get is started again.

The Sheriff’s Department says the Cessna 206 crashed about 200 feet short of the runway. Delain told authorities that he believed all three wheels hit at the same time and the nose went to the ground. The momentum flipped the plane onto its wings.

The plan is registered with Out of the Blue Skydiving, LLC based in Penrose, Colorado.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
