
APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - A special event for Vietnam vets at this summer’s EAA’s AirVenture 2013.
A group of 100 Vietnam vets will be selected for a one-day trip to Washington D.C. to visit the Vietnam Memorial Wall.
The event is in partnership with Northeast Wisconsin Old Glory Honor Flight of, American Airlines, and Oshkosh Corporation.
Old Glory Honor Flight President Drew McDonald says it is the 40th anniversary to the end of hostilities and this is the perfect opporuntiy to give Vietnam vets this opportunity. McDonald days Vietnam vets have been heavily supportive of their previous trips for WWII vets and recent Korean War vets.
The trip will include a stop at the Wall, the Smithsonian, and Arlington National Cemetery to the changing of the guard.
