MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ) - A Marinette County man pled no contest to fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend at a Wausaukee convenience store last summer.
Richard Heyer shot Ann Schueller back in August and was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide. Heyer also shot himself, but survived.
Heyer faces a mandatory life sentence when he learns his fate July 2nd. But Judge David Miron will decide if or when Heyer will be first eligible for parole.
Court records show the pair lived together outside of Crivitz until the end of 2011. Schueller had also requested a restraining order against Heyer in June, claiming he was abusive, and she feared for her safety. But a judge denied the request because there wasn't enough evidence of a threat.
