APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - Appleton Mayor Tim Hanna will present a new plan for hiring the city’s new IT Director after receiving backlash for a $25,000 relocation bonus to move 10 miles into the city.
Under the plan, Interim IT Director Dean Fox would have one year, instead of 24 months, to move into the city as required by the employee residency rule.
He would only be reimbursed for moving expenses.
The city council tabled a vote to hire Fox at their meeting two weeks ago.
The IT Director's salary is $95,000 a year.
