TOWN OF LAWRENCE, WI (WTAQ) - A 34-year-old Appleton woman has died following a crash that shut down part of southbound U.S. Highway 41 in the Town of Lawrence.
Hobart-Lawrence police say it happened around 8:53 a.m. Tuesday near County Highway U.
Authorities say Erin K. Cutsforth was driving northbound, lost control and went through the ditch, and struck a truck heading south.
That truck started on fire. The driver, 23-year-old David M. Byrne of De Pere, managed to escape before officials arrived. He was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
That part of Highway 41 reopened around 2 p.m. Tuesday. The investigation is ongoing.
