UNDATED (WTAQ) - Multiple media outlets and the social media account of the New Jersey State Police say a 3-year-old girl has been found safe in Massachusetts after being abducted by her father.
Police say 43-year-old Michael Trotta assaulted his ex-girlfriend and took their daughter, Elinor, Monday evening from her mom's Delaware home. Reports say that Trotta has been taken into police custody.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Delaware, New Jersey and Ohio for the two because police believed the girl was "in imminent danger".
Police thought that Michael Trotta may have been heading for New York City; however, authorities also believed there was a chance Trotta was headed for Marinette because he may have had friends or family in the area.
The alerts have been canceled.
FOX 11 reports that Delaware State Police indicate “arrangements are currently being made to reunite her with her mother.”
