OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - The Oshkosh Police Department says they've contacted the man believed to be the trucker who left a puppy behind a dumpster last week.
An employee at the Planeview Truck Stop found the puppy inside a black plastic gift bag on Thursday, July 10 at 11:25 a.m.
No charges have been filed against the Missouri man, pending further investigation.
Meantime, the puppy continues to receive care from a local veterinarian.
Oshkosh police say the maroon truck that appeared in earlier photographs was mistakenly identified as the suspect vehicle. Police apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused.
