KEWAUNEE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - A Kewaunee County barn is heavily damaged by fire Friday.
Crews from several agencies were called around 1:30 p.m. to the barn in the Town of Franklin.
Smoke billowed from the barn as firefighters arrived, taking them nearly 8 hours to get the blaze under control.
Denmark's fire chief tells FOX 11 almost 300 cows were inside at the time and only some of the animals managed to escape. No people were hurt and the cause is under investigation.
About 100 firefighters from a dozen area departments responded to the fire.
