
TOWN OF MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) - A resident tip helped Town of Menasha police uncover a marijuana growing operation.
Just after 4 p.m. Saturday, authorities were told of several marijuana plants growing in a field near the area of Elk Trail Court and Symphony Boulevard.
As officers and detectives were checking the area, they came upon a man in the field near the plants.
Officials say when police approached the man, he took off running but was caught after a short chase.
Authorities say the 31-year-old Town of Menasha man was put behind bars at the Winnebago County Jail on charges of delivery/manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana and felony bail jumping.
Officers recovered 44 marijuana plants from the field.
