SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ) - The 25th annual Burger Fest will be served up this weekend in Seymour.

John Steltz, who portrays Hamburger Charlie, says the two-day event brings burger enthusiasts from all over.

"We had the opportunity to meet people last year from Tennessee, Arizona and Iowa," says Steltz. "So they're coming from all over the country to spend time here at the home of the hamburger."

The first bite is Friday night at Rockledge Elementary School, 330 West Hickory Street, with a hot air balloon rally and balloon glow. It begins at 4 p.m., with burgers and other food being offered.

Then on Saturday, Burger Fest begins at 8 a.m. with a 5K Bun Run and a kid's run at 10:45 a.m. one block south of the entrance to the festival grounds on Main Street.

“We look forward to this time of year when burger lovers, family and friends unite in Seymour,” said Jim Campbell, president of the Home of the Hamburger board. “From hamburgers and ketchup to hot air balloons and competitions, there truly is something for all ages.”

All events are in downtown Seymour with hot air balloon rallies at Rockledge Elementary School. Admission buttons are available at many Seymour businesses, for $3 in advance and $5 at the gate; children 12 years old and under are free.

There is a $2 parking fee for school and Rock Ledge Park grounds. There is no admission cost for hot air balloon rally events.
