GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Green Bay are investigating a rash of bike thefts across the city since May 1.
Authorities say since that time, they have received 57 reports of stolen bikes. Just this month, 21 of those reports have been filed.
Green Bay police recommend people take the following precautions to avoid becoming the next victim:
- Do not leave your bike unattended and unsecured
- Secure all bicycles at all times
- Close garage doors and secure the service door
- Retain the bike serial number and identifying characteristics
- Obtain a bike license
Licenses are free and can be obtained at the Green Bay Police Department.
