
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Green Bay police are warning businesses and residents to be on the lookout for counterfeit money.
Police say there have been more than 60 cases since the start of the year. Two dozen reports in just the past month.
A majority of the fake bills involve $5, $10, and $20s.
Many of the bills use the same serial number.
Police believe the cases are connected and involve multiple suspects who have targeted local businesses, convenience stores, restaurants and retail stores.
Lt. Kevin Warych says everyone should do their due diligence and check the currency for authenticity to protect them self so they don’t become a victim.
