*****MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) - The Marinette County Sheriff says officers have found more evidence in the search for two burglary suspects.
"We've got a dangerous situation here," Sheriff Jerry Sauve told FOX 11. "We consider them to be armed and dangerous."
Sauve says around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, the Marinette County Sheriff's Office received a call about an abandoned vehicle on County Hwy. C, near the original search area.
When officers arrived, he says they found the engine was still warm.
The sheriff says the vehicle had been stolen from the area authorities were searching on Saturday.
Later Sunday morning, police found a stolen ATV near a cabin, according to the sheriff. Officers found a rifle on the ATV. Officers searched the cabin, but found no one inside.
Sauve says the owner of the cabin, who lives in Southeastern Wisconsin, was not there at the time.
No one was inside the cabin when officers arrived. The cabin's owner was not there at any time during the investigation. Authorities believe the suspects ran farther into the woods.
K-9 units are tracking in the woods nearby. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter and an airplane from the Wisconsin State Patrol are also part of the search effort.
The search involves at least two suspects involved in a burglary that happened at a convenience store in Stephenson early Saturday morning.
The two suspects are Chad Setunsky and Ashley Niewierowski, both 27.
They are considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities say the two were looking for cash and cigarettes.
They also stole an entire ATM, which authorities later recovered.
When deputies check the store and called for backup, the chase for the suspects began.
The suspects shot at authorities, crashed their vehicle, and took off on Saturday according to officials.
The sheriff says the bullets missed, and none of the deputies fired their weapons.
The Silver GMC Pickup truck crashed just north of the entrance to Twin Bridge Park.
Two, possibly three, suspects ran away into the woods.
Authorities say the rifle they found on the ATV matches the ammunition found in the crashed pickup truck.
