Green Bay, WI (WTAQ) - Scott Walker says that if he's re-elected governor in 2018, he won't try to juggle his state duties with another run for the White House.
The Republican Governor has not indicated whether he'll seek a third four-year term as governor.
But on the Jerry Bader Show today (THUR), Walker says there was never a time when he neglected Wisconsin while on the presidential campaign trail.
In fact, Walker says he may have spent more time dealing with state issues to the detriment of his presidential aspirations.
Walker spent much of this year traveling in preparation for his White House bid, which ended a few weeks ago after less than two months as an official candidate.
He believes the Republican field of possible nominees will narrow by the Iowa Caucus in February.
But unless one of them can do a better job of articulating their goals for the country, current frontrunner Donald Trump could win the GOP nomination.
As for Congressman Paul Ryan saying yes to the party and becoming a candidate for House Speaker, Walker believes Ryan can do the job.
But the change in demands on his time, coupled with a young family, could keep the Janesville Republican from taking the plunge.
Now, Walker says it's time to return to his "day job".
Over the next couple of months, Walker plans to tour the state while holding "listening sessions", to get a feel of what Wisconsinites are dealing with, and the issues most in need of attention.
He says over the next 3 years Wisconsin will see more reforms in areas like education, taxes & welfare.
